Dhari Noel is a Queer Black Caribbean Harlemite artist whose work explores the incoherence of race, failures of gender, and inherited performances. This summer, Dhari will be a Tennessee Williams Scholar at Sewanee Writers Conference as well as an Emerging LGBTQ Voices fellow at Lambda Literary’s writing retreat. Recent plays include Penguin Sex With Mr. Morgan (ANTfest/Ars Nova), Man Made, and Spirit Junkie (Cherry Picking, The Wild Project). Recent performances include Black Exhibition (Bushwick Starr), and In The Penal Colony (Next Door at NYTW, The Tank). Dhari is pursuing an MFA in Playwriting at Brown.

SUMMER 2023:

  • I will be an Emerging LGBTQ+ Voices Fellow at Lambda Literary’s Writng Retreat.

WINTER 2022/2023:

  • Penguin Sex With Mr. Morgan performed at Brown University’s Writing Is Live festival.

  • A.G.P. was a finalist for the Bushwick Starr Reading Series.

FALL 2022:

  • I moved to Providence and started my first year as an MFA at Brown University!

SUMMER 2022:

  • Exorcism for the DEI Practitioner was performed at this year’s Cherry Picking Festival. I also participated as an actor in several of the pieces this year.

  • Man Made was developed in a week-long residency with public performances at The Wild Project. The residency/performance was supported by the Cherry Picking producing team.
